American Medical Center through Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem, is offering patients a comprehensive package of medical services, with the following specializations:
The Bone Marrow Transplant Department is finding new ways to treat a range of diseases, including hematologic malignancies and solid tumors, also non-fatal malignant diseases, such as genetic and metabolic disturbances. The main focus is on developing new treatments.
The Department offers consultation and treatment for malignant blood diseases, immune deficiency and other genetic diseases that can be treated by bone marrow transplantation.
A comprehensive center for cancer treatment.
This clinic offers complete treatment for the entire spectrum of human neoplasia. The Sharett method for cancer treatment includes the use of radiotherapy, chemotherapy, hormone and genetic therapy, used separately or combined together.
Sharett services include an inpatient unit, an outpatient clinic, an outpatient center for chemotherapy, a radiation therapy unit, a unit of broncho therapy, an adolescent oncology program and neuro oncology units, psycho oncology and dermatology oncology, a multidisciplinary clinic to treat pain, genetic oncology services and psychological and social services programs.
The Hematology department uses the most advanced methods of diagnosis and treatment for malignant blood diseases such as leukemia and lymphoma, also many types of anemia. Diagnostic techniques include molecular biology that allows the precise diagnosis and treatment. Also, the department offers prenatal diagnosis of blood diseases, genetic and acquired coagulation disorders.
This Institute uses the newest tools and techniques to explore the molecular basis of disease and to transform their findings into medical practice, developing gene therapy as a new therapeutic modality. Combining research with treatment, the clinic is offering advanced laboratory facilities, a pharmacogenetic diagnostic unit, a development unit vector, a GMP production unit and a fully equipped ward for treatment with new therapeutic modalities.
The Human Genetics Department offers genetic counseling for families and individuals with genetic diseases, diagnosis of genetic diseases and prenatal diagnosis (amniocentesis and CVS). Counseling is also available for the families and carriers of cancer.
This department operates all scans of adults and children using both the planar method, as well as CT one (SPECT). The department is specialized in cancer-related scans or heart and brain diseases, using a PET instrument.
Besides the aforementioned departments, the department of surgery includes the following units: general surgery; oncological surgery for cancer-related diseases; pediatric surgery, for obesity; a unit for grade One trauma; a transplant unit, and a surgical unit for ambulatory surgery.

The Orthopedics Department offers services for a wide range of orthopedic problems and a high level of specialization. The department has specialists in problems of the shoulder, amputations, fitting of prostheses and orthopedic shoes. For each of the above are subspecialties with experts in each field, such as pediatric orthopedics, orthopedic oncology and Ilizarov surgery.
The Obstetrics and Gynecology Department deals with normal pregnancy and pregnancy complications; fertility problems in men and women; menopause; contraception; all related problems to gynecologic surgery, both laparoscopic and invasive. Department is famous for excellence in invitro fertilization.
The Division of Internal Medicine tests, diagnoses and offers comprehensive treatment for all internal medical disturbances. It contains a large variety of specialties and subspecialties along with a number of multidisciplinary units, such as:
- Clinical immunology and rheumatology center
- Center of research, treatment and prevention of atherosclerosis
- Center for diabetes and its complications
- Center for lupus examination and autoimmune diseases associated with it
- Center for liver disease
This multifaceted clinic is offering consultation and treatment through a variety of departments. Patients are treated from all age groups, suffering acute or chronic pain, postoperative and posttraumatic pain and any type of chronic pain whose source is malignant or benign.
The Lung Institute treats all types of lung diseases, including asthma of adults and children. The Institute has lung function laboratories and bronchoscopy rooms which facilitate diagnosis and treatment of patients, having special techniques for babies and children.
The Rehabilitation Therapy Department treats paralysis resulting from disease or injury and the effects of osteoporosis, heart attacks and heart surgery; recovery after amputation; musculoskeletal and spinal pain syndromes. They also provide functional assessments and treatment.
The Cardiology Department offers consultation for patients with heart problems and treats all types of cardiac and vascular diseases.
Tests include EKG and echocardiography in 24 hours. The Department offers also catheterization, dilation of coronary arteries and valves, stent implantation, electrophysiological tests for Eurythmia and pacemaker implantation.
The Pediatrics Department has many specialists and subspecialists in all major fields of pediatrics: neurology, nephrology, hematology, oncology, endocrinology, metabolic diseases, cardiology and neonatology.
The Clinic via the Dental School offers the following specialized services: maxillofacial rehabilitation, orthodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontology and pedodontics and dental implants. The patients can have dental treatment with general anesthesia or special dental services are offered to patients that suffer from serious systemic diseases.
The Dermatology Department deals with a variety of skin diseases, whose treatment, in certain cases, are made exclusively in Hadassah.
The Department includes: pediatric dermatology clinic; allergic skin diseases clinic (contact dermatitis); clinic for computerized monitoring of results; surgical clinic Mohs; PUVA; a clinic for skin eruption; clinic for hair loss, with special methods for diagnosis and treatment.
The Ophthalmology Department offers medical and surgical treatment including the latest surgery for cataracts, laser surgery for treating myopia or farsightedness and retinal surgery. The department has a special unit dedicated to Pediatric Ophthalmology.
The Endocrinology Department diagnoses and treats infections in all branches of endocrinology, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, hypophysis and adrenal glands disorders, female and male genitalia, offering specialized services to children suffering from disorders of development and growth.
The Urology Department is dealing with surgical and medical treatments related to kidney and urinary tract infections in men, women and children.
The subspecialties include the treatment of genital diseases in men, including uncontrollable urinary disturbance, genital and urinary tract infections, erectile dysfunction, sexual dysfunction and male infertility. The department is offering lithotripsy treatment for the kidney and urinary tract and is treating malignant and benign tumors of the kidney, bladder, prostate and testicles.
