From its inception, the rapid rate of progression established the highest medical standards in Israel, the standards of excellence. Hadassah University Hospital has quite an impressive list of accomplishments, each of them being remarkable in its time, this is a real testimony of vision and insight shown by Hadassah University Hospital. The hospital is continuing to transform the world into a better place through continuous healing and research.
Recovery
Hundreds of thousands of people are treated each year in over 100 outpatient clinics and more than 70 departments and specialized units. Fully equipped laboratories with the most advanced tomographs and other specialized equipment continue to enhance the clinic. Hadassah provides all medical services available in the U.S. and Western Europe, however some departments can only be found in the Jerusalem area, others are unique to Israel. These unique attributes led the government to declare the Hadassah University Hospital a National Center of Israel specialized in many fields.
Dedication
The Hebrew University with five academic institutions is the partner of Hadassah University Hospital dedicated to medical science. Hadassah University Hospital is world reknowned for its excellence in training and education of doctors, nurses and support staff. Working with the Hebrew University has produced many famous scientists who have enriched the world with their research and discovery. The School of Public Health, in partnership with the Israeli government, offers a one-year intensive program in English for foreign students, concluding with a Master’s degree in Public Health. From the inception of this program, more than 500 students from over 90 countries have completed the course. They have returned to their countries to fill crucial positions in public health and community medicine bringing more acclaim to the center.
Research
More than half of all medical research conducted in Israel is done by Hadassah. Each discipline incorporates research units and also many interdisciplinary research centers, both in hospitals and in some of the departments within Hadassah. Hadassah has enlightened minds through elite scientists and doctors that combine medical care with the latest state of the art laboratory research.

- Center for gene therapy
- National Center for heart transplant
- National Center for liver transplant
- Center for corneal surgery, refractory, vitreo retinal and laser surgery
