Ultrasound
The Ultrasound Department represents methods of diagnosing various diseases by ultrasound.
Ultrasound is performed in two ways: one-dimensional and two-dimensional. The first method, which is widely used, indicates the encountered structures by the ultrasound beam in the length of a straight line. The second one, the most common, gives two-dimensional anatomical images. In this case we speak about echo tomography.
Ultrasounds, which propagate easily in liquid and are not reflected by it, are stopped by the air and bones. That’s why the ultrasound is less appropriate or not at all in brain, lungs, intestines or bones examination. Starting from reflected ultrasound, the computer produces images that can be photographed. The doctor interprets cliches by comparing different plans.
